Health & Safety 6 August 2018

2018 Health, Safety, Environment and Community Conference starts today

Health & Safety 6 August 2018

More than 500 people from across NSW will gather in the Hunter today for the 2018 NSW Minerals Council Health, Safety, Environment and Community Conference (HSEC).

This is one of the NSW mining industry’s most important events, featuring a range of speakers from industry and government focusing on breakthroughs in workplace health and safety, community relations, and environmental management.

“This important annual event brings our industry together to discuss our challenges, identify innovation opportunities, and celebrate excellence. The Conference will also focus on further improving how we operate in the future,” NSW Minerals Council CEO Stephen Galilee said today.

A highlight of the Conference will be our NSW Mining Health, Safety, Environment & Community Awards, showcasing innovation from across the industry in NSW.

The nine finalists have been chosen for their breakthroughs and achievement in ‘workers health’, ‘mine safety’, ‘environmental sustainability’ and ‘community engagement’.
