Statement: Incident at Austar Mine

Health & Safety 18 September 2024

The NSW Minerals Council expresses its sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the individual who has tragically died at the Austar Coal Mine in the Hunter Valley.

Safety is our industry’s number one priority, and any workplace injury or fatality is one too many.

We also wish to acknowledge the Police, Emergency Services, Mines Rescue and Resources Regulator personnel who responded to this incident, and express our gratitude on behalf of our industry for the important work they do.
