Corporate Air – Leading The Way For FIFO Air Charter Services

Industry 19 June 2014
was launched in 1972 and since that time has become one of the leading and largest aircraft charter providers in eastern Australia with bases in Canberra, Goulburn, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and the Cooper Basin.

The 42-year-old family-owned company’s niche is in the nine to 34-seat market and it has recently expanded its fleet to 16 aircraft as part of its aim to support continuing demand for fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) work.  Chief Operating Andrew Webb has been with Corporate Air for over 20 years and explains that the Company considers NSW to be a key market, with ongoing development potential.

“Demand for air charter solutions will continue across mining and gas projects. This is where we see opportunity – more regular services, facilitate changing numbers in personnel to and from remote sites” he said.

One of the unique aspects of Corporate is its ability offer clients from its own fleet, a full range of aircraft to meet the changing needs of a project – including 34 seat Saab 340B turboprops, 19 passenger Metro 23s and 9 passenger Cessna 441 Conquests and Cessna 404 Titans.

“Requirements change as the nature of workforces adjust on projects, for example from larger volume FIFO movements of construction workers to FIFO for production and professional employees as production commences. FIFO services are essential for the resource industry and ensuring these services are provided safely and on time is a critical element of our client’s staff retention” Mr Webb said.

To deliver an immediate response, Corporate Air is also available around-the-clock for urgent charters including freight. States Mr Webb, “Our clients work 24/7 so we do also – we’re available at all times and often operate at short notice.”

Not only does the company maintain current ISO accreditations for Quality, OH&S and Environment, but it was also officially accredited in March 2014 as a Basic Aviation Risk Standard (BARS) Gold status operator after completing three successive annual audits showing full BARS compliance. The Basic Aviation Risk Standard is a single aviation safety standard for the resource sector.

‘Our clients demand the highest safety and service standards. It is a great tribute to our staff, we are proud to have achieved BARS Gold status’ he added.
