Death of miner mourned

The NSW minerals industry is mourning the death of a colleague after a fatal incident at a mine in the Hunter Valley.

The 38 year old woman died after a collision between her light vehicle and a haul truck at Glencore’s Ravensworth mine on Saturday night. The circumstances surrounding her death are being investigated.

NSW Minerals Council CEO Stephen Galilee said it was a terrible tragedy and the thoughts of the state’s mining communities would this week be with affected family, friends and work mates at this extremely difficult time.
