Election of new Nationals Leader and Deputy Premier

Industry 16 October 2014

“

The NSW Minerals Council congratulates the Hon. Troy Grant on his election as the Leader of the NSW National Party and Deputy Premier.

“The new Deputy Premier is a strong advocate for regional communities who understands the economic and social stability that mining brings to NSW,” NSW Minerals Council CEO, Stephen Galilee said today.

The NSW Minerals Council also thanked the Hon. Andrew Stoner for his long and distinguished service and leadership in NSW as well as his support for NSW mining workers and communities.

“Andrew Stoner has been a champion for his party and his state and his departure from the Parliament at the next election will be a huge loss for NSW. In particular he has championed many important policies for regional NSW, including Resources for Regions, an initiative that provides critical public infrastructure funding to regional mining communities,” Mr Galilee said.

“We look forward to working with new Deputy Premier Grant to keep mining strong, build regional communities, and continue to deliver jobs, investment and economic growth for NSW,” Mr Galilee said.
