Industry and Suppliers Awards finalists showcase NSW mining industry

“

“Our Industry and Suppliers’ Awards acknowledge key contributors to the important role of mining in NSW. Our state mining industry provides jobs for tens of thousands of families and injects valuable economic activity and spending into mining communities right across NSW,” NSW Minerals Council CEO Stephen Galilee said.  

 

“The contributions made by our Award finalists are critical to the ongoing pursuit of excellence in our industry and showcase some of the best our state mining sector has to offer,” Mr Galilee said. 

 

The finalists for 2019 NSW Mining Industry and Supplier Awards are: 

 

Mining Operation of the Year 

 

– Peabody’s Wambo Coal Mine
– Evolution Mining’s Cowal Gold Operations
– South32’s Illawarra Metallurgical Coal 

 

Outstanding Supplier 

 

– Hitachi Construction Machinery, Gunnedah & Muswellbrook
– Orica
– Nautitech Mining Systems, Castle Hill 

 

Young Achiever 

 

– Nicholas Sainty, Peabody’s Wambo Coal Mine
– David Salim, Hetherington Exploration & Mining Title Services
– Calum Baxter-Walters, BHP’s Mt Arthur Coal Mine 

 

Outstanding Contribution to Mining 

 

The Outstanding Contribution to Mining Award will be presented to an individual who has made a positive contribution to mining by demonstrating outstanding leadership, innovation and performance.
