Industry partners adding to a successful Voice for Mining Family Day

Industry 25 March 2015

The third annual Voice for Mining Family Day at Hunter Stadium is again being supported by a range of businesses that are vital to our industry and the success of the day.

Miners and their families as well as Newcastle Knights fans will be able to show their colours and proudly wear hi-vis in the stands when the Knights take on the Panthers thanks to one of our game day partners Blackwoods, a quality safety and workwear company for all your workwear needs.

While the players will wear hi-vis replica miners jerseys on the field, fans can collect a vest on the way into the ground. And by wearing hi-vis workwear, orange or even a hi-vis vest, fans could be named ‘Hi-vis Fan of the Day’ at half time.

As well as Blackwoods, we would also like to thank Coal Services, Marathon Tyres, Sargent Hire and Newcastle’s 102.9 KOFM who will all be part of our special ‘Miners World’ outside the Western Grandstand before the game. We’ll have face painting and pass the ball for the kids as well as plenty of mining and mines rescue safety equipment to have a look at on the way into Hunter Stadium. And we would like to thank Coalface Magazine for its efforts to promote the game amongst the Hunter’s mining community.

Voice for Mining Family Day is a major event for our mining communities and demonstrates grass-roots support for mining in NSW. This year, held on the same day as the NSW state election, it gives miners, their families and the local community a chance to make their voices heard by those seeking election to the NSW Parliament.
