NSW Mining welcomes FTA with Korea

“The Free Trade Agreement with Republic of Korea is a welcome development that will build upon the longstanding and important trade and investment relationship NSW currently enjoys with Korea,” NSW Minerals Council, CEO, Stephen Galilee said today.

“Korea is the third largest export market for NSW coal, representing over 15% of total coal exports from the state, highlighting the long established trade relationship NSW has with this valued regional trade partner,” Mr Galilee said.

“Korea is also a strong investor in the NSW resources sector and we hope this new FTA will further strengthen the trade relationship and improve the potential for further Korean investment in NSW.”

“We congratulate the efforts of the Australian Government in pursuing and securing this valuable international agreement,” Mr Galilee said.
