NSW Women in Mining Awards finalists announced

The NSW Minerals Council has announced the finalists for the 2019 Women in Mining Awards. 

 

 “Our Women in Mining Awards acknowledge the ​important and increasing role women are playing in our world-class NSW mining industry​,” NSW Minerals Council CEO Stephen Galilee said today.
  

 “Our finalists are all making an important contribution to a stronger and more diverse mining sector as our industry delivers jobs and investment for NSW – now and in the future,” Mr Galilee said. 

 

The finalists for this year’s NSW Women in Mining Awards are: 

 

Exceptional Woman in Mining
– Samantha Daly – Johnson Winter & Slattery
– Ngaire Baker – MACH Energy
– Sarah Withell – BHP 

 

Gender Diversity Champion
– Jenny Sharp – Newcrest Mining
– Wai Mun Lum – ANZ
– Tim Whitney – BHP 

 

Excellence in Diversity Programs and Performance
– Newcrest Mining
– Peabody 

 

Outstanding Tradeswoman/Operator/Technician
– Layli Gall – Liddell Coal Operations
– Maddison Clarke – KRH Mining 

 

Exceptional Young Woman in Mining
– Veronica Towndrow-Bree – Whitehaven Coal
– Brooke Lees – CMOC Northparkes 

 

“All finalists are highly skilled champions of change in the NSW mining industry and we are pleased that these awards are able to highlight the amazing contribution they are making,” Mr Galilee said.
