Record numbers nominate for annual NSW Women in Mining Awards

Entries are coming in fast for the

NSW Women in Mining Awards

, having already exceeded the number of nominations for the inaugural awards in 2012. Due to popular demand, we’re extending the deadline for nominations to

, recognise the achievements of women in NSW mining in various stages of their careers, as well as company initiatives, no matter how big or small, that support or retain women working in mining.

Winners will be announced on March 6 at the 2014 NSW Women in Mining Awards dinner in Sydney, sponsored by

Northparkes Mines

, where we’ll celebrate the achievements of all the nominees.

And we’ll also hear from the inspirational 2012 Young Australian of the Year Marita Cheng, thanks to

Glencore

. Marita has encouraged thousands of girls worldwide to consider engineering as a career; she’ll share her journey and experiences as a successful young female in a male-dominated industry.
