Resources for Singleton: Upper Hunter MP Michael Johnsen officially opens town’s main street

Singleton has celebrated the official opening of its main thoroughfare, John Street. The street was reconstructed and revitalised this year, with the majority of its funding coming directly from the NSW Government’s Resources for Regions funding program.

State Member for the Upper Hunter, Michael Johnsen opened the road, highlighting that the Resources for Regions program is a demonstration of the on-ground benefits mining can deliver to regional mining communities across NSW.

NSW Minerals Council CEO, Stephen Galilee praised the NSW Government for putting infrastructure funding into this important mining community. 

“It’s great to see the Resources for Regions program providing funds to improve the lives of people living in the mining community of Singleton.”  

“The NSW Government didn’t commit enough additional funding to the program in the State Budget in May, so it’s now time to do so to ensure other mining communities can benefit,’ Mr Galilee said.
