The Hon. Josh Frydenberg MP appointed as new Minister for Resources

Industry 22 September 2015

“

The NSW Minerals Council congratulates Josh Frydenberg on his appointment as the new federal Minister for Resources, Energy and Northern Australia.

“The outgoing Minister Ian Macfarlane deserves the highest possible accolades for his service to our nation. He has been the longest serving Resources Minister in our nation’s history, and the best, serving in the Howard and Abbott Governments in the portfolio. His stewardship of the portfolio over these two periods of government ensured the development and ongoing performance of our economy’s most valuable export sector, and for this our nation owes him an enormous debt of gratitude,” NSW Minerals Council CEO, Stephen Galilee said today.

“Incoming Minister Josh Frydenberg has done a tremendous job in the Assistant Treasury role, and we are looking forward to working with him to ensure our sector continues to make a big economic contribution to NSW and the nation. He will have to work hard in his new portfolio to match Ian’s commitment and legacy. I am sure that our new Minister recognises and understands this,’ said Mr. Galilee.

Ends.
