We’re bringing the Newcastle Knights Knights to visit Singleton as part of the community’s Hunter Coal Festival
The Newcastle Knights will take an official training session to Singleton, which will be open to the whole community, as part of the local community’s Hunter Coal Festival.
In the week leading up to ‘Voice For Mining’ Family Day at Hunter Stadium on March 28, the Knights and NSW Mining are teaming up to bring the whole first grade squad to the heartland of the Hunter’s mining community.
The Newcastle Knights will hold a full training session, run a junior clinic for a number of local schools invited to participate and spend time with local fans, miners and their families.
‘Singleton is the beating heart of the Hunter’s mining community and it is also home to some of the most passionate Newcastle Knights fans in the region,” said Scott Keenan from the NSW Minerals Council.
‘This is a special opportunity for the community to meet the Knights and see the team prepare for the big game against the Penrith Panthers on Voice for Mining Family Day.
‘It’s is a major community event for the region and we can’t wait to see thousands of miners and their families alongside Knights fans in hi-vis cheering on two great Hunter teams – the Knights and our mining community.’
The Singleton Training Session is a free event that will be open to the general public. There will be ticket giveaways throughout the morning and an autograph session with the first grade team.
