What is The Pitch
Mining is a vital industry for NSW and for Australia. Our people are world-class, and NSW mining operations and technical know-how are second to none.
So what do the next generation NSW miners think we should be doing to keep mining responsibly now and in the future? And what are they working on now as they build careers as the leaders of tomorrow?
As part of the conference program, The Pitch enters its third year, offering young professionals the chance to present their work—whether planned or completed—to a panel of industry experts and mentors. This session highlights how emerging leaders are contributing to a responsible mining industry and shaping its future.
We can’t wait to celebrate our young people, their aspirations, and their work.
Thank you to Newmont for their generous sponsorship of The Pitch.

- An example of really good practice
- A project that you have implemented

- An initiative you have championed and implemented at work
- Achieving a first at your mine site or in your business.
We choose the best six entries, and they get seven minutes to make their pitch to colleagues and our industry leaders at the NSW Mining HSEC Conference.
What’s in it for you?
- Get recognised by your colleagues for your hard work
- A chance to take the stage at the HSEC event and hone your public speaking skills
- Cash prizes for everyone selected to appear in The Pitch, including prizes up to $1000!
